July at St. Mark’s

In early June we gathered in the Parish Hall for after service refreshments followed by a short Bible study and Parish Meeting. We were joined by Deacon Denny Keagan who told us about the Albany Blooms initiative in the Diocese of Albany. Some of us at St. Mark’s were able to attend a conference at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center in April thanks to this grant. Denny left us with some materials that I attach HERE. Well worth reading. Just imagine if we at St. Mark’s had some spiritual practices outside of church in common. Denny suggested: Lectio Divina, A Rule of Life, Quiet Prayer.
I have added to the sermon page the sermon I preached this past Wednesday at the Community Alliance Church for the HFCS Senior Baccalaureate service.
This coming month (July) I will be working with some of you in the Sacristy and Library, cleaning out old stuff. Let me know if you wish to help.
Here are the Sunday Fellowship and Bible Study dates scheduled for the rest of the year. On each of these Sundays we will have coffee and refreshments after the service, either in the back of the church or in the Parish Hall. On the Sundays that have Bible Study I will lead a short (15 minute) study of some pertinent bit of scripture, wherever the food is!
We look forward to welcoming folk from All Saints in Hoosick this coming Sunday (June 29). They have graciously welcomed us at their home parish on the 3rd Sundays when I am preaching there.
