November at St. Mark’s
Dear Friends,
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME comes to an end this weekend. Set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday!
These months of growing darkness are a challenge to me, maybe to you. They are inexorable, and can’t be wished away. I know that many folk do not like Daylight Savings Time for a number of reasons. For me it provides an artificial relief as the darkness of Winter descends in early November, and as Spring looms hopefully ahead in March. What doesn’t change is the reality of the sun and its seasons.
The other thing that doesn’t change is the Nature of God’s Kingdom, and the Depth of God’s love.
On Sunday, November 23rd, The Rev. Meaghan Keegan, Canon for Spiritual Development in the Diocese of Albany will be with us at our 9:30 service. She will be the Celebrant at Communion and will lead a discussion after the service over refreshments.
The sermon series coming up in the next five weeks deals with God’s Kingdom; leading up to Christ the King Sunday and the season of Advent.
